Terms and Conditions of Tækniheimur.is

Tækniheimur.is reserves the right to change the rules and conditions without notice. All prices on the site are published subject to input and system errors.

When confirming an order in the online store or when establishing a business relationship with Tækniheimur.is, the customer agrees to the following terms and conditions:

 

#Payment options

We currently offer the following payment options:

– Bank transfer (Not through the online store)

– Cash (Only upon delivery of equipment/product)

 

# Right of return

14-day right of return of products, even if the packaging has been opened and tested, against presentation of a receipt for purchase, or confirmation of receipt that satisfactorily shows when the product was purchased or delivered. The customer is responsible for the deterioration in the value of the product resulting from its handling, which is not considered necessary to confirm the properties and functionality. Furthermore, packaging, accessories and manuals must be included with the product.

This right of return does not apply to any products that are installed or replaced in game consoles (e.g. Mod cubes, joysticks, PCB components, batteries, screens, etc.) that were installed in a computer with the customer’s consent.

If a product is returned or notified of a return within 14 days of purchase or delivery, the customer will be offered a full refund or a credit note equal to the original purchase price, but after that the price at the time of return will be based on the price at the time of return, if lower.

30-day right of return of products if they are in unopened packaging upon presentation of a receipt for purchase, or confirmation of receipt that satisfactorily shows when the product was purchased or delivered. This right of return does not apply to special orders or sale items.

The customer bears the direct cost of returning the product and is responsible for bringing the product to Tækniheimur.is
Returns are accepted at Víkurás 1, 110 Reykjavík during the stated workshop opening hours.
You can also report the return of the product within 14 days of receiving the equipment to the email address thjonusta@taekniheimur.is.
The right of return does not apply to specially ordered products, software that has been opened/activated and services that have already been provided.

Note: The customer is responsible for the cost of shipping when returning the product.

 

#Product Warranty

The sales invoice for the product is considered a warranty certificate and the warranty is valid from the date of purchase.
All new hardware that Tækniheimur.is delivers is guaranteed for a defined service period. If the warranty period is not defined, it is 2 years.
The general warranty period for products is 2 years unless otherwise specifically stated on the purchase invoice or in the product description of the relevant product. Warranty covers manufacturing defects and not normal wear and tear or damage due to incorrect use.
Batteries are considered consumables and are generally covered by a 6 – 12 month warranty from the manufacturer.
Warranty on all products is based in all cases on the device having been used correctly and according to the manufacturer’s instructions or special instructions from Tækniheimur.is and that the equipment/device has been properly maintained. Warranty does not cover damage or malfunctions resulting from transportation, incorrect installation, incorrect handling or misuse.

Defects must be reported as soon as possible; no parts of the device may be handled by parties not authorized by the seller unless in consultation with him.
Tækniheimur.is reserves the right to verify defects.

Note: In the event of a warranty repair, Tækniheimur.is does not take responsibility for data or any software that has been installed on the device after purchase.

 

# Computer equipment repairs

In Iceland, the Tækniheimur.is Workshop handles repair services and warranty issues on all equipment sold and serviced by Tækniheimur.is

If it is found during an inspection by Tækniheimur.is or an authorized service provider that the equipment is not defective, the customer must pay an inspection fee of ISK 8,500 at Tækniheimur.is or in accordance with the applicable price list of the relevant service provider, plus shipping costs if applicable.

 


# Warranty for repairs to equipment not sold by Tækniheimur.is, which a customer brings to the Tækniheimur.is workshop

We accept equipment for repair at the Tækniheimur.is workshop located at Víkurás 1, 110 Reykjavík.

A 1-year warranty is provided for work and materials used for repair services on such equipment.
Warranty for all repair services is based in all cases on the device having been used correctly and in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions or special instructions from Tækniheimur.is and that the device/device has been properly maintained.

Warranty for repair services does not cover damage or malfunctions resulting from transportation, incorrect installation, incorrect handling or misuse.

Tækniheimur.is does not compensate for damage that occurs to equipment that Tækniheimur.is has serviced or repaired after the equipment has been delivered to the customer.

If it turns out, in the opinion of Tækniheimur.is technicians, that damage to equipment that Tækniheimur has repaired on behalf of a customer can be directly attributed to errors in Tækniheimur.is’ work on that equipment, due to defects in the materials used in repairing the equipment or due to defects in the components installed in the equipment, then Tækniheimur.is will compensate for the damage that occurred due to the repair at the Tækniheimur.is workshop by repairing the equipment again free of charge.

If the repair is unsuccessful and damage to the equipment can be attributed to Tækniheimur.is’ work on the equipment, then Tækniheimur.is will compensate the equipment to the same extent as the equipment insurance of Tryggingafélagis Vörður with the rules that apply to their liability insurance for electrical equipment.

If it turns out that damage cannot be attributed to Tækniheimur.is’ work on the equipment, the customer must pay an inspection fee. 8500 kr at Tækniheimur.is

The warranty for work does not cover damage that occurs due to normal wear and tear of equipment due to use.

 

# Privacy

Tækniheimur.is handles personal information in accordance with applicable privacy laws. We only collect information that is necessary for our business with you.

As a registered user of the Tækniheimur.is Online Store, you are responsible for the confidentiality of your username, password and access to the computers that you may use to access the site. When registering, you agree to be responsible for all use cases regarding “My Account” (“My Account”) and password. Tækniheimur.is reserves the right to unilaterally refuse service, block access, remove or change the content of the website or stop orders if deemed necessary for security or other reasons.

Shipments are made with the carriers that Tækniheimur.is collaborates with at any given time.
The cost of postage is either charged upon delivery of the product by postal order or by transfer to the bank account of Tækniheimur.is
 

#Law and provisions of the Icelandic Constitution

The contractual relationship between Tækniheimur.is and its customers is governed by Icelandic law. In the event of a dispute that cannot be resolved, the customer may contact the Complaints Board for Goods and Services Procurement, Borgartún 21, 105 Reykjavík https://kvth.is. Disputes may also be brought before the Reykjavík District Court – Austurstræti 19, 101 Reykjavík. If any provision of these Terms or the Parties is in conflict with mandatory laws and regulations applicable to them or if such provisions are declared invalid by a court having jurisdiction over the Parties, such contractual provisions shall be reworded in a way that causes the least distortion of the original intent of the Parties within the framework of the relevant laws and court decisions, and the provisions of the Terms and/or the Parties shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
